I’ve been on the Internet for a good ten years now and it’s not hard to spot spam email and phishing attempts. I especially like the way that email clients have evolved to “sandbox” emails by automatically blocking external images etc.
This morning I was checking my work email, even though I’m officially on vacation for another 24 days, and one email got through my spam filters. Coming from [email protected] was the first giveaway (in a font that doesn’t put serifs on the capital “I” it looks like a lowercase “L”… [email protected]). Then I saw the link to paypal.com which, upon hovering you just KNOW it’s not going to be paypal).
But the creme-de-la-creme was the opener that I’d skimmed over…
