For the record, my AstraZeneca jab side effects were:
- Sore throat.
- Cough.
- Flu-like symptoms.
- Sore arm.
- Feeling low/down/anxious.
- Heart palpitations.
- Lost 7lb (Half a stone, just over 3Kgs).
There’s been so much talk of how it’s affected people differently and so this is me chiming in to make people aware that I had the same.
The sore throat and cough came in the night right after my my AstraZeneca jab. I’d been told this might be the case and so it was.
The next day, less than 24 hours after the jab, I felt freezing cold and then had hot flushes, very flu-like symptoms. I felt bad enough to stop working and put my head down for a few hours. It did the trick and I felt a bit better, well enough to continue working at least.
Having a sore arm was also common, that lasted for a full ten days after the initial jab.
However, feeling low, down and anxious was a real surprise. I had something in my system and my body was reacting to it through all the above symptoms, but the alien and peculiar feeling of almost dread was something I have never experienced in my entire life. It was so incredibly bizarre and unexpected, and like the sore arm, it too lasted for ten days after the jab.
To top off the reactions, on the night of the 9th day after my AstraZeneca injection, I had heart palpitations like I’ve never experienced before. It was a major concern and I was just pleased to wake up the next morning and end the side effects.
Googling “AstraZeneca jab side effects” came up with this useful little information snippet in the Search Engine Results Pages (SERPs);
The link points to Information for UK recipients on COVID 19 Vaccine AstraZeneca Possible Side Effects
What is interesting is that, obviously, the feelings of anxiety and heart palpitations are not listed.
However, there is this informative little snippet within the page that says:
Reporting of side effects
If you get any side effects, talk to your doctor, pharmacist or nurse. This includes any possible side effects not listed in this leaflet.
If you are concerned about a side-effect it can be reported directly via the Coronavirus Yellow Card reporting site or search for MHRA Yellow Card in the Google Play or Apple App Store and include the vaccine brand and batch/Lot number if available.
By reporting side effects you can help provide more information on the safety of this vaccine.
If anyone else had a similar experience, I’d like to hear from you, make a comment and let me know that we’re not alone in these apparently undocumented side-effects.
Also, report your side effects to the aforementioned Coronavirus Yellow Card reporting site, you could be helping to make the vaccine even better.
